Since Ben Cook threw open our brewery’s doors in 2008, Hangar 24 has grown rapidly, and with that growth comes an opportunity to add a select number of passionate team members who are interested in coming along for that ride with us. In under 6 years we have expanded our distribution to 3 states, and we’re looking for talented individuals to help us continue to grow while building for themselves a career in an industry filled with creativity and possibility. Beer is a great unifier, and we seek to bring that aspect of community to everything we do at Hangar 24, from the top down. Brewer

Job Summary
Responsible for all functions related to brewing, including (but not limited to) wort production, cellar-work, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and packaging of beer.

Key areas of Responsibility:

  • Producing beer in accordance to established SOP’s
  • Cleaning and sanitizing brewery equipment with strict adherence to the established SOP’s
  • Accurately and completely documenting all required data in the Brew log
  • Consulting with the Brewing Manager on a continual basis about brew schedule, raw material needs, shift tasks and activities related to the job
  • Following established safety procedures; maintaining a safe work environment at all times
  • Using and maintaining Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including inventory of required items
  • Following the established Brew schedule and informing the Brewing Manager and Production Manager of any instances where the schedule needs to be changed
  • Completing all task checklists, including shift transition checklists
  • Communicating inventory needs to the Brewing Manager to ensure production is not hindered by product shortages
  • Using and maintaining equipment, including but not limited to: bottling machine, keg washer, forklift, pallet jacks, handcart

Qualifications

  • Formal brewing education, or 3 years of production brewery experience, and comprehension of the fundamentals of Brewing Science.
  • Forklift Certification is required, but will be provided, if needed.
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Maintenance Technician

Overall Responsibilities
Essential job functions include maintenance & repair of brewery equipment including bottling line, electronics, pumps, valves, controls, machinery, etc. Assisting and completing brewery upgrade projects. Improving efficiencies through increased preventative maintenance and added functionality.

Beer Tender

Overall Responsibilities
Sells beer and other retail products to customers during Tasting Room hours.

Key areas of Responsibility

  • Processes beer sales (pints, six-packs, growlers, kegs and related equipment) and other merchandise (t-shirts, window stickers, pint glasses, gift certificates and tap handles) to retail customers.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly tasting room, bathroom and other areas of the brewery open to customers during hours of operation.
  • Ensures that all customers are abiding by rules and regulations as established by Alcohol Beverage Control, and the state, county and city in which we conduct business.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of beer offerings (flavors, ingredients, etc.) in order to answer questions from customers, as well as conduct tastings
  • Strong communication skills

Maintaining a welcoming, positive and safe environment for customers in the Tasting Room.

Key areas of Responsibility

  • Interfacing with customers
  • Monitoring customers alcohol consumption while in the tasting room and on the patio
  • Monitoring and securing safety within and around the brewery
  • Assisting bar staff members in caring for customers who may be overly intoxicated
  • Assisting in conflict resolution
  • Escorting customers to their cars and/or taxis when needed
  • Ensuring patio is clear of empty glassware and debris

Brewery Market Manager - San Diego County

Hangar 24 Craft Brewery, an expanding regional craft brewery located in Redlands, CA, is seeking a highly motivated Brewery Market Manager! The successful applicants must have a have a passion for craft beer, along with a strong background in sales, preferably in the beer, wine & spirits industry. These applicants must be highly motivated, extremely organized, independent self-starters that thrives in a very competitive market. The selected candidates must reside within the City of San Diego and be willing to travel throughout the assigned surrounding counties.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for representing and expanding sales for Hangar 24 Craft Brewery in both on & off premise accounts in designated sales territory.
  • Build relationships with owners / buyers at all on premise and off-premise accounts.
  • Maintain complete and accurate account information and sales data in Salesforce CRM.
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication between accounts and our distributors, to ensure product is being ordered and delivered appropriately and that a healthy relationship is maintained between all accounts and our distributor. This will also include:
    • Communicating directly with distributor sales reps and managers responsible for this sales territory.

Delivery Service Representative

Overall Responsibilities
Picks-up both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage products at the Redlands distribution centers and delivers them to various wholesale and retail locations within the Orange County area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loads and unloads beverage products from a box delivery truck
  • Transports beverage products to various wholesale and retail locations
  • Rotates stock at some accounts
  • Uses pallet jacks, hand carts, and other equipment to move product/pallets
  • Maintains accurate delivery records
  • Any other duties assigned

Qualifications

  • Valid California Class B license
  • Good driving record
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver at least 170 lbs.
  • Must be able to lift, load, unload, and move products, which requires twisting, turning, bending, and/or squatting repeatedly throughout the day
  • Basic math skills needed to adjust invoices when necessary

  • Accurate record keeping including, but not limited to: mileage, number of stops (and kegs/cases) per shift, invoices, COD orders, keg deposit returns.

Pursues new on-premise accounts while servicing current accounts in the Orange County area; building the number of accounts within the sales goals provided. 

Requirements and Competencies

  • Demonstrated sales skills required and at least 2 years sales experience (beverage industry preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage priorities and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

Customer Service Representative

Job Summary
Interacts with both customers and employees to provide excellent sales service. Solicits sales and receives orders from field Sales Representatives, and enters, tracks, coordinates/schedules delivery and/or will-call pick up. Processes same-day requests and provides support to the sales team with regard to inventory availability, order changes, and new account setup.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receives, enters and tracks sales orders
  • Solicits sales via telephone for house accounts
  • Assists customers with phone orders, will-call sales and donation pick-ups, statement and invoice requests
  • Processes credit card payments by phone and submits to Accounting for reconciliation.
  • Supports the Sales Representatives and Sales Managers by providing inventory availability, processing order changes and setting up new accounts,
  • Customer database maintenance. Includes verifying and updating liquor licenses and resale permits, shipping address changes and updating contact info.
  • Assembles POS materials for customer orders
  • Answers general sales inquiries and quotes prices
  • Provides general administrative and clerical support to Sales teams, and other departments when needed
  • Reporting. Access, prepare and send reports when requested by Sales managers. Setup routine sales reports and email weekly to Sales Representatives.
  • Serves as backup for answering phones as needed
  • Prepares and finalizes special deliveries and other paper invoices for field representatives
  • Files (if all other tasks are completed)

Qualifications

  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Experience with EoStar and Great Plains preferred

Warehouse Associate - Swing Shift (4pm - 12:30am)

Job Summary
Receives warehouse deliveries, organizes warehouse inventory, and maintains warehouse cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists with loading and unloading of delivery trucks
  • Uses forklift, pallet jacks, hand carts, and other equipment to organize warehouse inventory
  • Documents products picked, quantity accuracy, ticket discrepancies
  • Cleans wrapping, pallets, broken glass and other trash from the warehouse

  • Inspects customer orders to ensure that the order is accurate, complete and saleable, notifying the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager of any product discrepancies or shortages
  • Interacts with will-call customers on order completion and status
  • Repacks product from damaged packaging into saleable packages
  • Sorts by product and by brand
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to utilize email for company communication and ability to perform basic data entry into computer spreadsheets
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift, load, unload, and move products, which requires the ability to twist, turn, stoop, and/or squat repeatedly throughout the day
  • Knowledge of safe lift truck operation
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime
  • Experience in a warehouse preferred
  • Sufficient agility to operate a lift truck, pallet jack and regularly mount equipment
  • Two-handed maneuvering of up to 70 pounds from floor to pallet and pallet to floor
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver at least 165 lbs.

Working Conditions

  • Warehouse environment with storeroom hazards, such as product pallets and moving forklifts
  • Physically demanding (e.g. moving product pallets and cases throughout entire shift)
  • Day shift hours and night shift hours
  • Working on cement flooring on a regular basis
  • Regular exposure to 40 degree cold box temperature
  • Regular exposure to temperatures ranging from 50 – 100 degrees F on a seasonal basis
  • No overnight travel required, but frequent travel between distribution buildings in Redlands

Director of Marketing

Overall Responsibilities
Plans and directs marketing of Hangar 24’s products by performing the following duties personally or thought subordinate supervisors.

Key areas of Responsibility:

  • Responsible for local, regional and national PR strategy. Acts as liaison between brewery and media
  • Successfully conceptualizes and orchestrates “grassroots” or “word-of-mouth” style product marketing campaigns
  • Increases website traffic through social media sites while expanding company’s network of contacts on various social media sites
  • Serves as the administrator of the firm’s presence within core social media platforms
  • Monitors company profiles and presence within the social media universe
  • Facilitates inquiries from different media outlets
  • Prepare and distribute press releases and posts to company website
  • Coordinates with news media in development of appropriate news stories about company
  • Develops and maintains effective media contacts
  • Maintains a deep understanding of market and customers, providing counsel and enhancing company reputation
  • Contributes to the ongoing development and execution of company social media strategy and framework
  • Manages and develops marketing programs and materials such as advertising and event support; plans and executes advertising to build customer awareness and repeat purchases

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training marketing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage and delegate rapidly changing priorities. Able to meet deadlines and monitor/evaluate results of campaigns
  • Visionary individual with excellent presentation and persuasion skills
  • Proven ability to manage successful campaigns with limited budget.
  • 5+ years’ experience within the consumer-based PR industry, related knowledge of social media and online campaign experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing a team
  • 5+ years’ experience acting as spokesperson for and growing a brand
  • 5+ years’ experience identifying industry trends and maintaining relationships with news media.
  • Experience working with Food Drug & Mass distributors to facilitate marketing campaigns in the form of Coupons, Temporary Price Reductions and print ads desired but not required.

Work Environment

  • Standard office environment with some local field events.
  • Minimal travel.
  • Requires extended periods of sitting and working at a computer.
