Since Ben Cook threw open our brewery’s doors in 2008, Hangar 24 has grown rapidly, and with that growth comes an opportunity to add a select number of passionate team members who are interested in coming along for that ride with us. In under 6 years we have expanded our distribution to 3 states, and we’re looking for talented individuals to help us continue to grow while building for themselves a career in an industry filled with creativity and possibility. Beer is a great unifier, and we seek to bring that aspect of community to everything we do at Hangar 24, from the top down. Brewer

Job Summary
Responsible for all functions related to brewing, including (but not limited to) wort production, cellar-work, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and packaging of beer.

Key areas of Responsibility:

  • Producing beer in accordance to established SOP’s
  • Cleaning and sanitizing brewery equipment with strict adherence to the established SOP’s
  • Accurately and completely documenting all required data in the Brew log
  • Consulting with the Brewing Manager on a continual basis about brew schedule, raw material needs, shift tasks and activities related to the job
  • Following established safety procedures; maintaining a safe work environment at all times
  • Using and maintaining Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including inventory of required items
  • Following the established Brew schedule and informing the Brewing Manager and Production Manager of any instances where the schedule needs to be changed
  • Completing all task checklists, including shift transition checklists
  • Communicating inventory needs to the Brewing Manager to ensure production is not hindered by product shortages
  • Using and maintaining equipment, including but not limited to: bottling machine, keg washer, forklift, pallet jacks, handcart

Qualifications

  • Formal brewing education, or 3 years of production brewery experience, and comprehension of the fundamentals of Brewing Science.
  • Forklift Certification is required, but will be provided, if needed.
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Maintenance Technician

Pay Classification
Full Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Department
Production

Reports to
Brewery Engineer

Overall Responsibilities
Essential job functions include maintenance & repair of brewery equipment including bottling line, electronics, pumps, valves, controls, machinery, etc. Assisting and completing brewery upgrade projects. Improving efficiencies through increased preventative maintenance and added functionality.

  • Brewery Engineer
  • Brewery General Manager
  • Production Manager

Qualifications

  • Strong problem solving skills & mechanical aptitude
  • Packaging line experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of motors, gears and gearboxes
  • Ability to understand technical drawings (electrical, mechanical, construction)
  • Flexible schedule (we are a 24/7 facility)
  • Ability to multitask
  • Enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

Beer Tender

Pay Classification
Part Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Department
Retail

Reports to
Front of House Manager

Overall Responsibilities
Sells beer and other retail products to customers during Tasting Room hours.

Key areas of Responsibility

  • Processes beer sales (pints, six-packs, growlers, kegs and related equipment) and other merchandise (t-shirts, window stickers, pint glasses, gift certificates and tap handles) to retail customers.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly tasting room, bathroom and other areas of the brewery open to customers during hours of operation.
  • Ensures that all customers are abiding by rules and regulations as established by Alcohol Beverage Control, and the state, county and city in which we conduct business.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of beer offerings (flavors, ingredients, etc.) in order to answer questions from customers, as well as conduct tastings
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Good observation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to maneuver a ½ BBL Keg (165 lbs)

Work Environment

  • Warehouse environment that is not temperature controlled
  • Frequently noisy during periods of heavy customer attendance
  • Strong smell of wort permeates the area when beer is being brewed

Atmosphere & Safety Coordinator

Pay Classification
Part Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Department
Brewery - Tasting Room

Reports to
Tasting Room Manager
Front of House Managers

Overall Responsibilities
Maintaining a welcoming, positive and safe environment for customers in the Tasting Room.

Key areas of Responsibility

  • Interfacing with customers
  • Monitoring customers alcohol consumption while in the tasting room and on the patio
  • Monitoring and securing safety within and around the brewery
  • Assisting bar staff members in caring for customers who may be overly intoxicated
  • Assisting in conflict resolution
  • Escorting customers to their cars and/or taxis when needed
  • Ensuring patio is clear of empty glassware and debris
  • Assisting with closing duties when necessary

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to obtain Cicerone Certified Beer Server within 60 days of employment
  • Available to work weekends and major holidays
  • Ability to maneuver a ½ BBL Keg (165 lbs)
  • Ability to communicate with firm confidence
  • Previous security experience preferred

Director of Marketing

Pay Classification

Overall Responsibilities
Plans and directs marketing of Hangar 24’s products by performing the following duties personally or thought subordinate supervisors.

Key areas of Responsibility:

  • Responsible for local, regional and national PR strategy. Acts as liaison between brewery and media
  • Successfully conceptualizes and orchestrates “grassroots” or “word-of-mouth” style product marketing campaigns
  • Increases website traffic through social media sites while expanding company’s network of contacts on various social media sites
  • Serves as the administrator of the firm’s presence within core social media platforms
  • Monitors company profiles and presence within the social media universe
  • Facilitates inquiries from different media outlets
  • Prepare and distribute press releases and posts to company website
  • Coordinates with news media in development of appropriate news stories about company
  • Develops and maintains effective media contacts
  • Maintains a deep understanding of market and customers, providing counsel and enhancing company reputation
  • Contributes to the ongoing development and execution of company social media strategy and framework
  • Manages and develops marketing programs and materials such as advertising and event support; plans and executes advertising to build customer awareness and repeat purchases

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training marketing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage and delegate rapidly changing priorities. Able to meet deadlines and monitor/evaluate results of campaigns
  • Visionary individual with excellent presentation and persuasion skills
  • Proven ability to manage successful campaigns with limited budget.
  • 5+ years’ experience within the consumer-based PR industry, related knowledge of social media and online campaign experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing a team
  • 5+ years’ experience acting as spokesperson for and growing a brand
  • 5+ years’ experience identifying industry trends and maintaining relationships with news media.
  • Experience working with Food Drug & Mass distributors to facilitate marketing campaigns in the form of Coupons, Temporary Price Reductions and print ads desired but not required.

Work Environment

  • Standard office environment with some local field events.
  • Minimal travel.
  • Requires extended periods of sitting and working at a computer.
